GEMSTONE FACTS
PREHNITE
Prehnite is most often found as a vein or amygdule mineral in basaltic rock subjected to low grade burial With hydrothermal activity found in northern part of the state of Wisconsin
MALACHITE
Malachite is usually found with the blue mineral azurite. Color range from weak green to dark green to blackish green. The color is due to the presence of copper. Found in Russia, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia where it is found with azurite.
SCAPOLITE
Scapolite comes from the Greek for “stick Stone” which refers to the habit in which the crystal is usually found. Stones may be attractively colored in yellows, pinks, or violet, as well as usual white and colorless. Found in Burma, Madagascar and Brazil
RHODONITE
This stone has a rose red color which is due to the presence of manganese. Found in the USA, Mexico, South Africa and Australia
JASPER
The word comes from the Greek word meaning “spotted stone”. It is a variety of microcrystalline
quartz. It is found worldwide, but the most varied types are found in California USA.
OPAL MATRIX
Inclusion of precious opal with and or in matrix rock found in Mexico and Australia
